Welcome to Honors Algebra 2, 2018 - 19!
WE are now on GOOGLE CLASSROOM! :)
Below, you will find assignments and additional answer keys to assignments.
You are expected to check your solutions to all assigned homework. This will save a lot of time in class. Of course, you are encouraged to ask questions if you still do not understand the problem after checking the solution!
Since this is an honors level class, we will go at an honors level pace. Substantial work effort will be required outside of class as well to become fluent with concepts so that you might apply them to new problem solving situations. Therefore, you should expect assessments that evaluate not just concepts learned, but your ability to think and apply your knowledge to solve new problems as presented.
If you find the pace a bit too overwhelming, no worries! You may switch to the CP class as long as there is space in that class. Your schedule may have to be adjusted, so you want to make this decision asap!
Please note*** By policy, any student who changes levels, will have the grade earned in the honors class directly transferred to the CP course! There is no adjustment for difficulty. This transferred grade will be multiplied by the percent of classes spent at the honors level, and will then be added to the grades earned in the CP course, again, multiplied by the appropriate percentage as determined by time (classes).
Students - PLEASE try to create a balance in your life. Sleep is so important. Your health and wellbeing are priorities. Balance for you may look different than balance for someone else, and that is just fine! Know yourself. You are enough, regardless of which level math course is ultimately the best fit for you in light of all your other commitments, interests, and time constraints. YOU CAN BE A WONDERFUL SUCCESSFUL HUMAN BEING without taking a gazillion honors and AP courses in high school. Yes, I just said that! Take courses that are the right match for you, and only you. Balance is key.
